All the photos and processing by me. The image won a Gold Medal (category "Unusual") at the Trierenberg Super Circuit 2013 contest.
In this picture, I tried to imagine what kind of stories and adventures could imagine a 5 years old kid when playing in the garden with his stuffed toy, seeing a cat wandering nearby. The mouse taming the cat and mounting it sounded as a good beginning! Then I came up with the rest of the set.
On the technical side, the cat is a Maine Coon named Akhalia, one of my 4 cats. She's really calm and peaceful, it is next to impossible to make her jump in the studio in front of the strobes, so I had to create a composite of 5 different photos. Flowers and mouse were bought the day after, and my wife kindly sewed the disguise. I also shot these at home, using the very same lighting setup to maintain coherence. Finally, the path sky and trees were photographed during a walk in the woods next to my house.
